FL Bright Futures Scholarship

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program establishes three lottery-funded scholarships to reward Florida high school graduates for high academic achievement.

Each year, Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union gives away four $5,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors!! If you are a senior and your parent banks at Gulf Winds, then please consider applying.

Pensacola Connection, Inc. (PCI) is pleased to announce its plan to award one $1,000 scholarship for the 2018 school year.  


At a minimum, applicants must comply with the following criteria:


*        Have a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or Higher.

*        Be a Graduating Senior of an Escambia County High School (Florida).

*        Be involved in Church, School and Community Activities.

*        Submit Two Letters of Recommendation (ONE LETTER MUST BE FROM A SCHOOL OFFICIAL).

*        Submit an Official High School Transcript.


PCI’s Board of Directors will make the selection and notify both the awardee and the school’s Guidance Department in writing via postal mail.  The deadline date for receipt of applications is April 15, 2018.  The application is posted below.

2018 Walker Morgan Scholarship


  • Applicants must currently be enrolled in high school and plan to graduate before July 1, 2018, or be enrolled in college.

  • Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

  • Applicants or direct family members must have been personally affected by an injury of some type.

Deadline: May 31, 2018

Award Amount: $2,500

Application: Only online applications will be accepted. The application can be found on the website.

Winning Applicant: Judging for this scholarship will take into account three factors:

  1. Academic achievements.

  2. Achievements outside of school.

  3. The written response to the question.

Redfin Scholarship


Who We Are-- Redfin is the next-generation real estate brokerage, combining our own full-service agents with modern technology to redefine real estate in the customer's favor.


Scholarship Details-- This $2,500 scholarship is a way for Redfin to help one student on his or her journey through higher education.


Essay-- For the November 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018 session, answer the following question in 300-500 words: Technology and big data are disrupting nearly every facet of our lives. Amazon disrupted the retail industry, Uber disrupted the taxi industry, and Redfin has disrupted real estate. What industry do you think will be disrupted next, and why?


How to Apply--

The scholarship application period will occur twice yearly with awards delegated in both the Spring and Fall. The Spring application period is from November 1-January 31 of each year. The Fall application period is from May 1-July 31 of each year. Visit the website to complete the online form within the designated application periods.



  • Legal U.S. resident

  • Eighteen years of age or older

  • Graduating high school senior or current freshman, sophomore, or junior in college attending an accredited university or college

  • Cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale

The Florida P.E.O. Scholarship is for outstanding young women who are seniors and will be attending an accredited public or private Florida college or university pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.


Additionally, the Chapter BU, Florida Scholarship Fund is a scholarship for outstanding young women that are seniors and will be attending the University of West Florida or Pensacola State College.


Both of these scholarships are focused on girls in need of financial support who have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or better, SAT scores of 1150 or better and/or ACT score of 25 or better.  Please note that young women who are planning to attend UWF or PSC may apply for both scholarships in the one application.  


Both scholarships have an application process completion date of January 26, 2018.  Please see the attached flyers for more information.  


If you are interested in applying you MUST first speak with your guidance counselor to determine eligibility.  Then from there you will be given access to the application once eligibility is confirmed.

Florida State University's Service Scholar Program


High school graduating seniors with a distinguished record of community involvement and a strong desire to continue to learn through service are encouraged to apply. Competitive candidates have community involvement beyond the normal requirements for high school graduation or Florida Bright Futures scholarships, both in quantity and depth of service. A commitment that exhibits initiative and leadership will be given greater consideration.


Applications will open on Nov. 3. Complete applications, which include two recommendation forms, must be submitted by Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at 5 p.m. Eastern time. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered.

George Stone is offering THREE $1000 scholarships!!!

Available to all graduating seniors from Escambia County School District Schools     


Application Process:

  • Submit an application form
  • Solicit 3 character references

  • Submit an online George Stone Technical Center enrollment application

  • Write a one paragraph statement about why you want to attend George Stone


  • Must have a State of Florida High School diploma upon enrollment
  • Must meet program specific requirements

  • Must enroll at George Stone within one year of receiving the award

Application and documents must be submitted by March 30, 2018.

Applications are open for the ACT Student Champion Award! The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place.


ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition.


Please encourage students in the graduating class of 2018 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria to apply:

  • A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions

  • Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale

  • Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students.

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes


Starting September 12, 2017, students can enter online once during each entry period for a chance to win a $500 scholarship to help cover education expenses.  Two winners will be randomly chosen every two weeks beginning on or about October 30, 2017 until May 14, 2018.

Army ROTC Scholarships


Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending UWF, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need.


UWF Army ROTC scholarships provide funding for either academic classes or room and board. Additionally, scholarships include a book allowance each semester and a monthly stipend!
