English I/II and Reading Daily Motivation

I am a leader and I will do what a leader does.  As a leader I am dedicated to my job which is my classroom.  In my classroom I sit at my office.  I am called a scholar by name. My teacher is my professor.  I am a leader because I am responsible, respectful and resilient.  I have started with an end in mind, am dedicated and diligent regarding my job which is my academic studies.   I am an example for others as well. I am a leader because I am being equipped with a voice and choice.  My classroom belongs to me.  As a leader, I am unique in reference to my learning style and interests. My classroom has flexible learning spaces that have been created by my teacher just for me. Most importantly, I feel special and safe . I am encouraged  and given the opportunity to learn on a daily basis.  I am a leader because leaders see the best in others and encourage them to be the best that they can be..

From the Desk of Tonita Goldston

I look forward to a great year.   I have a positive attitude and am not judgmental. As a result, I see the best in all of my scholars. I also believe that all scholars are capable of learning. I will continue to create innovation ways to motivate and engage my scholars.  This year, I will assist my scholars to overcome barriers that have hindered their learning. I will implement personalized learning where my scholars will have a voice and choice in the learning process.  My classroom is student centered. I will take a personalized approach regarding each students’ learning style, abilities and interests. I believe in Vision 2020: Personalized learning because it is built on the premise that learning happens anywhere, anytime, and in flexible learning spaces.  Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn. I concur with Mr. Franklin. My most significant objective for this school year is to involve my scholars in the lessons that I teach.  I am so thankful that I am a teacher. I chose this profession because I have a passion for teaching and I enjoy every minute that I get the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the scholars who I teach.  My educational background includes but is not limited to the following:  B.A. in English, M.Ed., in Reading Specialist and D. Min., Counseling and Leadership.
