Business Cooperative Education OJT/ BCE Organization and Management

Designed for students planning careers in business occupations, this program provides on-the-job experiences as a part of a job-preparatory program which will develop occupational competencies required for employment in the occupation by the student as a career choice. Students receive one credit for one period of classroom instruction and up to three credits for on-the-job training. Students enrolled in BCE will be placed by the BCE teacher/coordinator with a training agency in an office job; the teacher/coordinator supervises the work experience of each student. Students must participate in FBLA club activities, which provide leadership training and reinforce specific vocational skills.
Special Note: Students must be 16 years of age with average grades, transportation, good attendance, and BCE teacher/coordianatior verification of eligibility.

Business Education Directed Study

This course provides students with additional competencies in the business education Program they are completing and/or additional education in the occupation chosen by the student. Student performance standards to be mastered are selected from the specific job preparatory program in which the student is continuing and are outlined in an instructional plan developed by the teacher using the appropriate CCD program number.

Special Note: Students must meet specific criteria for continuance in a program; criteria are stated in the state course framework.
