The Choral Music Department Classes 


Concert Chorus

This course is open to all students regardless of their choral experience or number of years in a choral program outside of Pine Forest. Students in the class are assigned course codes Chorus I - IV.

Women's Ensemble

This group is a select women's ensemble. Selections are made over the summer by the director based on the students previous choral experience, GPA, deans record and class attendance for the previous school year. Freshmen being considered will be contacted by the director. Students in the class are assigned course codes Chorus I - IV.

Trebleaires

This group is an auditioned ladies show choir. Students who wish to audition for this group must have had extensive vocal experience and be able to read music. It also requires a dance audition and students will be required to purchase several costume pieces that will be determined by the director. This groups requires a number of hours outside of the regular school day. Auditions for the 2005-2006 school year will be held the first week of May 2005. Interested girls can contact the director at 941-6150. Students in the class are assigned course codes Vocal Ensemble I - IV.

Les Chanteurs

This group is an auditioned mixed ensemble. The group performs a wide variety of music and represents the school in the in many community performances. This groups requires a number of hours outside of the regular school day. Students who wish to audition for this group must have had extensive vocal experience and be able to read music. Auditions for the 2005-2006 school year will be held the first week of May 2005. Interested girls can contact the director at 941-6150. Students in the class are assigned course codes Vocal Ensemble I - IV.


Chorus is open to all students with a minimum GPA of 2.0 for the pervious school year. A wide variety of music is covered along with basic music reading and performance skills. Chorus requires some after school rehearsals and performances that are part of the graded elements for the course. 


Chorus I 
This course provides experiences in basic vocal production techniques and part singing. 

Chorus II
This course provides experiences in basic vocal production techniques and part singing. 
Prerequisite: Chorus I

Chorus III
This course provides instruction in the development of basic vocal musicianship and technical skills through the study of varied choral literature. 
Prerequisite: Chorus II

Chorus IV
This course provides instruction in the application of vocal musicianship and technical skills through the study of varied choral literature. 
Prerequisite: Chorus III

Chorus V
This course develops independence in musicianship, performance techniques, and aesthetic awareness through rehearsal and performance of varied choral literature.
Prerequisite: Chorus IV

Chorus VI
This course fosters independence in vocal musicianship, performance techniques, and aesthetic awareness through rehearsal and performance of varied choral literature. 
Prerequisite: Chorus V

Vocal Ensemble I
This course develops performance in ensembles through the study of widely varied, appropriate choral literature.

Vocal Ensemble II
This course applies varied techniques in vocal ensembles through the study of widely varied, appropriate choral literature. Prerequisite: Vocal Ensemble I

Vocal Ensemble III
This course develops creativity and refined performance techniques in vocal ensembles through the study of widely varied appropriate choral literature. Prerequisite: vocal Ensemble II.

Vocal Ensemble IV
The course applies varied techniques in vocal ensembles through the study of widely varied, appropriate choral literature. Prerequisite: Vocal Ensemble III.
