The mission of school driver education programs is to provide students with opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge, motivation, and behaviors that promote responsible and safe driving.
 

To enroll in drivers education, students must have reached their fifteenth birthday and be able to obtain a restricted license.Classroom instruction satisfies the four hour requirement for the Drugs, Alcohol, and Traffic Safety education (DATE) program which must be completed prior to obtaining a restricted license.

Schools participate in the Diver Education Licensing Assistance Program (DELAP) in conjunction with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Students who have demonstrated mastery of specific student performance standards my receive a waiver for the driver's license written examination. Students who successfully complete the driver education course may receive a waiver for the driver's license road test. the Division of Driver Licenses reserves the right to spot check students by by administering a written examination and a road test.

Students who satisfactorily complete this course will receive a certificate which may reduce insurance rates.

Students cannot receive credit unless they pass both the classroom and driving phases of the course.

To obtain a learner's permit, you must have the following:
  • Original or Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Parents or Legal Guardian
  • $20.00
