1006300 Journalism I 1 credit
This course provides instruction in basic aspects of journalism and workshop experience in journalistic production. Students explore the history of journalism; practice news, sports, feature, and editorial writing; and gain workshop experiences in photography, layout, advertising, and printing. Finally, students will demonstrate basic use of technology for research, production, and dissemination of journalistic media.
 
1006310 Journalism II 1 credit
This course provides practical experience in news gathering techniques, journalistic writing, and opportunities to explore careers in journalism. Writing practice includes news, sports, feature, and editorial writing. Finally, students will demonstrate basic use of technology for research, production, and dissemination of journalistic media. Special Note: Students must have completed Journalism I or have publication adviser approval.
 
1006320 Journalism III 1 credit
This course provides intermediate instruction in writing and production skills related to various journalistic media and includes practice in applying all aspects of the writing process. Students explore journalistic standards and organization and management techniques through firsthand experiences in producing a variety of journalistic products. Finally, students will demonstrate basic use of technology for research, production, and dissemination of journalistic media. Special Note: Students must have completed Journalism I or have publication adviser approval.
 
1006330 Journalism IV 1 credit
This course provides advanced instruction in journalistic writing and production techniques. Through firsthand experiences in managing a journalistic enterprise, students explore creativity in writing, graphic design and/or photography, production techniques, and management. Finally students will demonstrate basic use of technology for research, production, and dissemination of journalist media. Special Note: Students must have completed Journalism I or have publication adviser approval.
