This course introduces students to the history of television, priniciples of lighting and audio, basic camera operation, scriptwriting and edition. Students will experience hands-on activities in the day-to-day operation of a television studio and will perform various functions of the television production crew. Course content will include but not be limited to the role of television in the mass media, television set planning, use and care of various television equipment, lighting and audio techniques, priniciples of picture composition, and the writing of various broadcast scrip formats.

~TV Production II, 1 Credit

This course provides students with an expanded study and application of television production principles begun in TV Production I. Course content will include but not be limited to planning, writing, recording, directing, and editing various television production and programming activities. Students will also explore the various career opportunities in the television production field.

*Special Note: Student must have completed TV Production I or have permission from the TV Production instructor.

~TV Production III, 1 Credit
Course # 1100320

This course provides students with an intermediate study of aspects of television production. Course content will include but not be limited to advanced use of the audio control system, character and special effects generators, ENG (electronic news gathering) and EFR(electronic field production).

*Special Note: Students must have completed TV Production I or have TV Production instructor approval.
